الأهداف

1. خريجين مؤهلين لديهم المهارات الأساسية والمعرفة بتحديات ومجالات الهندسة المدنية المعاصرة.
2. خريجين قادرين على تطبيق الأساليب الحديثة في التخطيط والتصميم والتنفيذ والإدارة والانشاء في مختلف مشاريع الهندسة المدنية.
3. خريجين لديهم مهارات الاتصال الكافية لضمان تحقيق سبل التعاون والعمل الجماعي في المشاريع متعددة التخصصات.
4. خريجين قادرين على الاستمرار في التعلم واكتساب المهارات اللازمة لتطوير الأداء المهني والتفكير الإبداعي وتخطيط العمل على أساس قيم المجتمع وأخلاقيات المهنة.
5. خريجين قادرين على تطوير التفكير المنطقي والإبداعي واكتساب المهارات المطلوبة والتحليل الهندسي لتحديد المشكلة ثم النمذجة ثم تحليل وإيجاد العوامل والقوى التي تؤثر على طريقة التصميم.
6. خريجين قادرين على تقديم الاستشارات الفنية لحل المشكلات التي تواجه القطاعات الهندسية المختلفة، والمحافظة على البيئة وحمايتها وصولاً إلى تحقيق التنمية المستدامة.
7. خريجين قادرين على مواكبة المستجدات في مجالات الهندسة المدنية من خلال إعادة تقييم الخطط الدراسية والمناهج المطروحة بشكل دوري.
8. خريجين قادرين على إقامة علاقات متينة مع الشركات المحلية والإقليمية والمؤسسات الدولية لتعزيز ودعم عملية النشاط التعليمي في القسم.

Program Aims

The following are the aimed of the program:

1. Qualified graduate engineers possess the basic skills and knowledge of the challenges and areas of contemporary  civil engineering.

2. Graduate engineers can apply modern methods in planning, design, implementation, management, and construction in various civil engineering projects.

3. Graduate engineers can acquire the communication skills to ensure that the spirit of cooperation and teamwork in multidisciplinary projects.

4. Graduate engineers can continue to learn and acquire the skills to develop professional performance and creative thinking and action planning based on community values and ethics of the profession.

5. Graduate engineers can develop logical thinking and creative and to gain the required skills and engineering analysis to determine the problem and modelling and then analyse and find the factors and forces affecting the way design.

6. Provide technical advice to solve the problems faced by different engineering sectors, and to maintain and protect the environment down to the goal of sustainable development.

7. Maintain abreast of the latest developments in the fields of civil engineering, through the re-evaluation of the study plans and curricula offered periodically.

8. Establish strong relationships with local and regional companies and international institutions to promote and support the process of educational activity in the department.

The graduates of the civil engineering program should be able to:

1.  Master a wide spectrum of engineering knowledge and specialized skills and can apply acquired knowledge using theories and abstract thinking in real life situations.
2.  Apply analytic critical and systemic thinking to identify, diagnose and solve engineering problems with a wide range of complexity and variation.
3.  Behave professionally and adhere to engineering ethics and standards.
4.  Recognize his/her role in promoting the engineering field and contribute in the development of the profession and the community.
5.  Work in and lead a heterogeneous team of professionals from different engineering specialties and assume responsibility for own and team performance.
6.  Value the importance of the environment, both physical and natural, and work to promote sustainability principles.
7.  Use techniques, skills and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
8.  Assume full responsibility for own learning and self-development, engage in lifelong learning and demonstrate the capacity to engage in post- graduate and research studies.
9.  Communicate effectively using different modes, tools and languages with various audiences; to deal with academic/professional challenges in a critical and creative manner.
10.  Demonstrate leadership qualities, business administration and entrepreneurial skills.
